Hospital Cash Back
Get KES 1,000 cash back per night if hospitalized for 1+ nights at a Ministry of Health-registered facility. Up to 30 nights annually.

Life Assurance
Should you pass away, your family will receive KES 50,000. We want to ensure your loved ones are supported during a difficult time.

Eligibility Criteria
Our solar pump customers on Pay-As-You-Go who make timely loan payments. We support your efforts to power your farm with solar!

Policy Activation
All policies become active after your first installment payment. We ensure coverage begins promptly after the initial payment is processed.

Exclusions
Claims are not valid for risks from drug/alcohol abuse, criminal acts, riots, demonstrations, suicide, self-inflicted injury, war, or terrorism. Ensuring fair coverage terms for everyone.
Claim Documents Required
In case of Death:
- One of the following sets of documents proving death: A Death certificate; OR Certified letter from a local administrative authority or officiating religious authority and a mortuary receipt/ burial permit; OR Burial Permit and coroner’s report/ mortuary receipt
- Loan amortisation schedule (for Credit Life claims)
- Copy of deceased’s identification document (showing name and age/ date of birth)
In case of Disability:
- A Medical statement from a registered doctor certifying the date, nature and cause of the disability
In case of Hospitalization:
- Stamped discharge summary or Hospital report showing date of admission, date of discharge and treatment received.

What is SunCulture Protect?
SunCulture Protect is a medical solution that SunCulture is offering to its customers. The offering includes Inpatient and Outpatient benefits to individuals and families. Through partnership with Turaco, SunCulture has developed this product to meet the customers’ health needs.
Who is Turaco?
Turaco is a valued partner of SunCulture, providing and administering insurance coverage to SunCulture customers. Turaco is the owner of Turaco Microinsurance Limited, Kenya, a licensed microinsurance company that underwrites, provides, and administers insurance policies.
How do I qualify for SunCulture Protect Cover?
Your eligibility is determined by being a SunCulture customer, being 18 years and above, and residing in Kenya.
What does SunCulture Protect offer?
SunCulture Protect offers Insurance to both individuals and families for all SunCulture customers. There are two levels of coverage: the base level and an upgraded level.
How long does my cover last?
Coverage is provided monthly, starting from the loan issue date and is renewed each month. To maintain uninterrupted monthly coverage, it is important to make timely loan repayments. SunCulture Customers who fail to make timely payments may not be eligible for continued coverage.

What is Hospital Cash?
This is a benefit payable upon admission to a hospital for one (1) or more consecutive nights at any public or private hospital as long as it is registered by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to offer inpatient services (i.e. Level 3, 4, or 5).
The product does not pay your hospital bills – rather, it provides a benefit amount to you after being discharged from the hospital, to offset costs associated with the hospital stay. Examples of these costs are costs for transportation, loss of income, household expenses incurred, etc.
What is Life Benefit?
This is a cash payout made to the next of kin should the SunCulture Customer pass on in life.
What does the waiting period mean?
The waiting period means the fourteen days before your benefits become fully active. However, it’s important to note that for Hospital Cash and in the event of loss of life due to an accident, claims can be made immediately, and there is no waiting period.
Which hospitals can I go to for inpatient services?
You may seek treatment at any level three (3), level four (4) or level five (5) public or private hospital that is registered by the Ministry of Health for inpatient care.

How do I know I have been registered successfully?
You will receive a cover activation SMS and a recorded welcome call to review your cover details.
How do I know if my SunCulture Protect Cover is still active?
Your insurance is activated from the loan issue date or once the monthly payment has been made, and it is renewed monthly for 12 months. To check if your coverage is active, a customer can contact Turaco at 0800 221 245 or they can log in to their SunCulture customer portal to view the insurance policy.
How do I claim?
To claim, call 0800 221 245 or WhatsApp Turaco on 0768 387 245 as soon as the incident occurs, and an agent will assist you with the necessary documentation.
How soon should claims be reported?
As soon as possible! Claims must be reported within a maximum of one (1) week after the occurrence of the claim event.
How long does it take to get my claim paid?
Turaco pays all claims within 3 business days of receiving all necessary documentation.
How do I receive my claim?
The money will be sent to your M-PESA or Airtel Money.
How many times can I claim?
Hospital cash benefit allows you to claim up to a maximum of 30 days of hospitalisation in a policy year, while the life benefit can only be claimed once.
What if I am too ill to notify Turaco of my claim?
That’s okay! A family member or friend can notify Turaco of the incident. We may need to reach you for verification of your hospitalisation.
What if I can’t afford hospital bills at the time I am hospitalized? Can I qualify for cash upfront?
Hospital Cash does not provide cash upfront to members. You must first clear your medical bills and file a claim with Turaco. Upon submission of full claim documents, Turaco will pay your claim within 3 business days.
How does my next of kin claim if I pass on?
Share the Turaco number with your next of kin. In the unfortunate event you pass on, your next of kin can call Turaco on 0800 221 245 and start the claims process. A Turaco agent will guide your next of kin on the documents needed to make a claim.
Will I receive a medical insurance card?
No, there is no medical insurance card. Once you register, you will receive confirmation from SunCulture and a recorded welcome call to review your cover details.

You can contact Turaco for FREE on 0800 221 245 anytime Monday to Friday between 9 AM to 5 PM, except on public holidays.
